Preparation and Safety


 

 

Cooking instructions: Oven

Oven cook from chilled: Before cooking: Remove all packaging. Preheat oven to 190°C/Fan 170°C/Gas 5. Place flour in a bowl and season lightly with salt and pepper. Toss the diced beef in the flour to coat, shake off to remove any excess. Heat 5ml of oil in frying pan on a medium heat, add the diced beef and approximately 300g of sliced carrots and onion. Cook until meat is brown on all sides. During cooking: Transfer to a heatproof casserole dish, add 900ml of by Sainsbury’s fresh beef stock and 220ml of water, season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Cover and place in a preheated oven for 4 hours or alternatively over a low heat on the hob for 4 hours, stirring occasionally. After cooking: Check food is piping hot and no pink colour remains. Remove from stock to serve. All cooking appliances vary. This is a guide only.

Warnings:

This product is not suitable for rare cooking. Do not undercook raw meat. Keep raw meat separate from cooked foods. Use separate kitchen utensils and surfaces for raw meat and cooked foods or wash them thoroughly between use. Wash hands after handling raw meat. Raw meat may contain organisms hazardous to health. Cook thoroughly until piping hot throughout, no pink colour remains and the juices run clear. If not fully cooked in accordance with the instructions harmful bacteria may remain.
